Our Story
Founded in 2008 by Joanne Lueck, the British Cane Corso Society (BCCS) has a long-standing connection with the Cane Corso community in the UK. In 2025, a team of people from across the breed community came together with a shared purpose: to revive the BCCS and build an organisation capable of supporting the preservation, understanding and responsible future of the Cane Corso Italiano in the UK.
Our team brings together different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives from within the breed, but we are united by a genuine passion for the Cane Corso and a belief that its future depends on knowledge, responsibility and collaboration.
We believe in respecting the breed’s history and original purpose while recognising the responsibilities that come with owning, breeding and representing the Cane Corso today.
Through education, responsible breeding, health awareness and constructive relationships within the wider Cane Corso community, we want to help owners and breeders make informed decisions while improving public understanding of this remarkable breed.
Above all, the BCCS exists to help protect the integrity and future of the Cane Corso Italiano. By bringing people together, sharing knowledge and encouraging high standards, we hope to contribute to a stronger, more informed and more united breed community for generations to come.
