The True Cost of Responsible Breeding
Every Cane Corso begins its life with a series of decisions made long before the first puppy is ever born. Those decisions shape not only the future health of an individual litter, but also influence the long-term welfare of the breed itself. Responsible breeding is about far more than pairing two attractive dogs together.

ENCI (Italian) Cane Corso Standard
Its direct ancestor is the "Canis Pugnax" (the old Roman Molossian) of which he is the light version employed in the hunting of large wild animals and also as an "auxiliary warrior" in battles. For years he has been a precious companion of the Italic populations. Employed as property, cattle and personal guard dog and used for hunting purposes too. In the past this breed was common all over Italy as an ample iconography and historiography testify.

Supporting the Breed in a Simple Way
Supporting the future of the Cane Corso does not always require large gestures.
In many cases, it is the small, consistent actions that make the biggest difference over time.
One of the simplest ways to support the work of the British Cane Corso Society (BCCS) is through a platform called EasyFundraising, a system that allows supporters to raise funds for the society while carrying out their normal online shopping.

Choosing a Cane Corso puppy is an exciting decision, but it is also one that carries long-term responsibility.
In today’s market, not all Cane Corso puppies are the same. The breed has grown rapidly in popularity, yet responsible breeding has not always kept pace with demand.
