In the summer of 1995, while enjoying a holiday in Sicily, I stumbled upon a remarkable breed of dog known as the Cane Corso. This chance discovery occurred as I was driving towards Secca Grande beach, not far from my hometown of Ribera in the province of Agrigento. A roadside sign advertising Rottweiler puppies piqued my interest, and as an ardent dog enthusiast, I felt compelled to visit the nearby kennel. Approaching the gated entrance, I was greeted by the resounding barks of the dogs within. My attention was immediately captured by a large, black, cropped, and docked Molosser-type dog, leaving me both awestruck and intrigued.
